Veronica, Szyndler, age 73, of Interlochen, formerly of Dearborn Heights, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 29, 2011. She was born on September 20, 1937 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada to the late Alexander and Julia (Richardson) Damphousse.
Veronica married the late George Szyndler on October 18, 1958 at Sacred Heart Church in Dearborn. She was a Registered Nurse until she and George started raising their family. Veronica enjoyed golfing and bowling and loved to go fishing with George every day. She crocheted beautiful afghans and donated them to a local catholic charity. Veronica was a member of St. Sebastian's Catholic Church in Dearborn Heights for 30 years and of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Traverse City for the past 20 years.
She is survived by her loving sons, Michael (Gena) Szyndler of Dearborn Heights and Stephen (Rose) Szyndler of Pensacola, FL; her sweet grandchildren, Sierra, Brian, and Dawn; her dear sister, Judy Babrowski of Roseville; and her loving mother-in-law, Frances Szyndler of Port Huron.
Veronica was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 50 years, George; and her precious infant son, Gregory.
Visitation for Veronica will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2011 from 4-8p.m. at Hackett-Metcalf Funeral Home in Dearborn. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Sebastian's Catholic Church in Dearborn Heights.
