Veturia Nicula, Age 85, of Livonia, Michigan passed away on January 01, 2025, peacefully in her sleep.

Veturia was born in Talmaciu, Romania on December 16, 1939, to Ioan and Ana Voicu. She married Constantin 'Aurel' Nicula on October 13, 1960, and lived in Sebesu de Sus, Romania until 1978 when they immigrated to the United States with their three daughters. They joined the church family at Sts. Peter & Paul Romanian Orthodox Church shortly after where Veturia became very involved in the Ladies Auxiliary including cooking for monthly dinners, baking cozonac, and holding the position of Auxiliary President. She was a devout Orthodox Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, incredible cook, and so much more. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, and cross stitching and was happy to give her artwork away as gifts. Although she never had a driver's license, she always found a way to attend church every Sunday and never missed a Romanian Festival in full Romanian Costume. She enjoyed listening and dancing to traditional Romanian Music from the region of Ardeal and spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, and her church family. She will be greatly missed!

She is survived by her three daughters: Daniela (James) Coleman, Gabriela Nicula, and Maria (Daniel) Plantus and her 7 grandchildren: Jessica Coleman, Stephanie (Logan) Putnam, Patrick Coleman, Antonia Martin, Zachary (Ashley) Plantus, Alexandra (Tyler) Eshelman, and Veronica Plantus.

Visitation Friday from 4-8pm with a 7pm Saracusta at Sts. Peter & Paul Romanian Orthodox Church. In state Saturday 9:30am until the 10am Funeral Service at church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sts. Peter & Paul Romanian Orthodox Church.
