Obituary

Victoria Louise DeSanto (Audia), age 97, made her grand entrance through the Pearly Gates on March 29, 2025. She was surely greeted by her husband, her love, our dad and papa, Mr. Dominic (Buddy) Vincent DeSanto, who has been waiting for her since 1986. We can only imagine the reunion; dancing, music, diamonds and furs, everything and more she absolutely deserved in life and after. We can only pray that God has a K-mart up there for her.

Victoria, or Vicky as she preferred only to "Nana" or "Mom", was the beautiful and wise matriarch of a large loving family she held together with passion, warmth, tradition and plenty of sass! She was a woman of countless talents, the elaborate quilts she lovingly embroidered with tiny exact stitches would take your breath away, the delightful traditional cookies, the pasta, the meat balls and the "puna eggs" will never be the same. Her magical ability to make anything grow in her yard would amaze you, she could bring anything back to life. She was truly magical in so many ways, it was impossible not to recognize that she was made perfectly special, hand crafted as a gift to this world by God, and she was ours.

Vicky's real claim to fame, however, was the legacy of love she poured into her family, who will miss her dearly; her children; Vincent Dominic DeSanto, Vicky Lynn Clark (Jeffery) and Mary Chala McNamara (Michael) cared for her lovingly and with utter devotion up until the moment the Lord took her hand and led her to heaven and her grandchildren whom she had an enormous hand in raising and whom flocked to be near her at any given chance; Michelle Marie DeSanto, Regina Ann DeSanto, Angela Renee Schommer (Christopher), Mary Rosa Clark and John Michael McNamara.

From her beloved grandchildren, "Nana" was blessed with six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren all whom she was able to love, treasure and inspire: Christian Andrew Nixon, Jason Russell Nixon, Holly Beth Nixon, Victoria Marie Nixon, Jackson Vincent Wassell and Joel Dominic Schommer; and her great-great grandbabies, Maria Michelle Nixon-Parker and Vincenzo Martin Nixon-Parker.

Nana, your legacy will live on for generations. You are with us in our hearts, our work, our habits and our perspectives. Your traditions, principles and determination will always inspire us and drive us to make you proud. Your family will honor and love you forever. Have a good time up there, we will see you and Papa soon, but not too soon.
