Vincent L. Morell, age 88, November 4, 2014.

Vincent was born in Bad Axe, Michigan at the family home. He was the second child of seven siblings. Son of Leo and Margaret. Brother of Edward, Vincent, Robert, Mary, William, John and Delia.

Vincent attended Catholic School through the 8th grade. He was an altar boy. At the age of 12 he developed Diphtheria and was given last rights.

As a young man he worked as a farm hand and then with his father as a partner. They came to the Detroit area in 1942 to find work. After working in a factory Vincent decided to join the Navy and served from 1943-1945. During this time period he also met the love of his life when he was just 17 years old and Genevieve was 15. They wed in June of 1946. He worked for the city of Dearborn and retired after 30 years. They had 8 daughters: Rita (Kenny) Coffman, Louise (Rick) Richter, Carol (Tom) Keelean, Janet (Robert) Gauthier, Pauline (Zane) Gardulski, Lorraine Hearn, Catherine Morell and the late Jeanette (Joe) Kama. 23 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. During the years of raising his family, Vincent was active in VFW Post 7575, Garden City, where he was Commander for two separate terms (1975-1976 and 1995-1996). He was also a member of the Ritual Team. He loved spending time with his family as well as a little travel, hunting, bowling and pool leagues throughout the years.
