Virgil J. Leabu, age 82, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2012 at Crystal Creek Assisted Living Center in Canton. Virgil is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Wanda Virginia, daughter Susan; daughter Katherine (Robert Hoen); grandchildren Lee, Corryn and Mary Hoen; daughter Andrea Gallucci, grandchildren Mia and Leo Gallucci; sister Tina Cieply, and many nieces and nephews.

Virgil retired in 1992 after 33 years from the Argonaut division of General Motors to Las Vegas, where he and Wanda Virginia resided until 2009. In retirement, Virgil enjoyed many hobbies including woodworking, rose gardening, and casino visits. He was active at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where he served as President of the Forever Young Seniors Club. Virgil was a US Army veteran who served in military intelligence from 1950-1952.

A memorial celebration and Mass will be held on Saturday, March 3 at 11:00 AM at St. Mel's Catholic Church, 7506 Inkster Road, Dearborn Heights, with a luncheon immediately following at Mama Mia's Restaurant in Livonia. Internment will be at St. Hedwig's Cemetery, Dearborn Heights.
