Virginia Lapinski, a longtime resident of Dearborn, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 25, at the Ingham County Medical Care Facility near Lansing. Virginia was 99 years old.

The youngest daughter of Paul and Mary Powojski, Virginia was born and raised in Detroit. In 1946 Virginia married Joseph Lapinski and moved to Dearborn. There, they raised seven sons. Virginia was a loving mother who was devoted to her family and her well-kept home. She was a wonderful cook of Polish and other dishes who seldom needed a written recipe. She also was a member and officer of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph, her brothers Mac and Edward, her sister Genowefa and one son, Ronald. Virginia is survived by her six beloved sons - Joseph, Kenneth (Patricia), Jerrold (Nancy), Jeffrey (Beverly Bonning), James and Jason - as well as 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is Friday, March 31, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 5:00 p.m., at Hackett-Metcalf Funeral Home, 2640 Monroe Boulevard, Dearborn, Michigan 48124. A Mass will be held Saturday, April 1, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 3965 Merrick Street, Dearborn Heights, Michigan 48125. Prior to the Mass, Virginia will lie instate starting at 9:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Michigan Humane Society or St. Martha's Catholic Church in Okemos, MI.
