Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Virginia E. Moore (formerly Rochon; nee Mellian) on Tuesday, April 21st, 2020.  She was born to the late Eva and William Mellian on September 25, 1932 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She lived in Garden City, Michigan since 1957 where she raised her family. She was predeceased by sisters Mary Richman and Helen Smith (Frank) and brothers, Dino (Maryann), Bill and Jackie. Surviving is her brother Victor (Joanne) and sister-in-law Alice. Virginia will be dearly missed by her six children: Denise Rochon-Fick (Rob), Darlene Hard (Wes), D'Ann Rochon (Michael), David Rochon (Alberta), Darryl Rochon (Liz) and Donna Rochon (Tom).  She will also be greatly missed by her many grandchildren and their spouses which include the beloved late Daniel (1999), Jeremy (Nicole), the beloved late Jessica (2008), Chrissie (Rich), Melissa (Alex), Andrea, Joshua (Fatin), Jordan, Jacob, Rachel, Brandon and Zachery.  She also leaves behind her great grandchildren, Cecelia, Zoey, Sophie, Fletcher, Cameron, David and Catherine.  She is mourned by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Just prior to her passing, Virginia lost her cherished Shih Tzu, Bruno, age 16 years.  Virginia had an Associate Degree from Schoolcraft College and enjoyed a long career in the accounting field when she retired in 2009.  She was a passionate gardener and was a participant in a Garden City Garden Walk.  She also loved young children having been a Sunday school teacher for 25 years at Sts. Peter and Paul Romanian Orthodox Church in Dearborn Heights. She will be sorely missed by all. "We can no longer see you with our eyes, or touch you with our hands, but we will feel you in our hearts forever".  Until we meet again.
