Obituary

Virginia F. Trapp. Age 96. Virginia passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Robert F. Trapp Sr. Loving Muma of Deborah Trapp, Linda (Robert Wilson) Trapp, Jeffery (Donna) Trapp and the late Robert (Karen) Trapp. Cherished Grandma of Kristen (Jason) Pursley, Caitlyn (Rick) Chalmers, Michael Robinson, Genevieve Hutton, and Sarah (Jacob) Culver. Great Grandma of Ryan, Austin, Breslyn, Luke, Logan, Lily, Violet, Magnolia, and Brady. Dearest Daughter of the late August and Alma Schulte. Dear sister of Marilyn (the late Dennis) Walker, and the late Raymond Schulte. Adored Aunt of Lori, Linda, Lisa, Leslie, Kimberly, and Kelly.
Born to proud parents August and Alma (nee: Hartung) Schulte in March of 1926, Virginia's young life was marked by the tragic death of her mother from tuberculosis when she was a nine-month-old.Cared for in her formative years by her father's three sisters, who stepped in after her mother's passing instilled a deep appreciation of the importance of family and as the long serving matriarch of her family, she embodied this sentiment.
Virginia's childhood was highlighted with neighborhood friendships, trips to Bob-Lo and Harsens Island, and summers with her beloved cousins.Christmas time brought reflective memories; "I would go to sleep on Christmas Eve and in the morning a beautiful tree with ornaments, lights, and tinsel would be waiting for me".
Virginia attended St. Catherine's High School in Detroit, graduating in 1944. After high school she obtained her secretarial certification from Saint Mary's Commercial School. She then attended the University of Detroit to study business. Here she met Robert Trapp and was engaged six months later.Virginia and Robert were married on the 30th of June 1951.
Virginia's loving marriage to Bob brought her great joy.In 1961 Virginia and Bob moved into their forever home, a newly built Newman construction on Olmstead Street in Dearborn where they raised their family.Virginia was a dedicated homemaker and proud of her well-kept home.Nothing made Virginia happier than a clean house and yard and her annual battles with the whirly-gigs were legendary.
Virginia adored her faith and was an active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Tabernacle Society, as a member of the Saint Cecilia's Circle she spearheaded the production of a parish cookbook and spent years ironing all the Mass linens with her trusty and ever present Ironrite. After her youngest when off to school Virginia returned to working and took employment with Sears in Lincoln Park where she was a member of the Customer Service Department.Virginia took pride in her employment and found great satisfaction in the work often reminiscing about her days with Sears. She was also not to be outdone when it came to wrapping a gift, a skill she honed at Sears during the holiday seasons.Virginia was an avid reader and loved to engage in conversations of the latest events. She was a bowler well into her 80's, an accomplished and self taught bridge player, and a wicked Euchre competitor. Virginia was deeply loved and will be missed by all those whose lives she touched; she will be ever present in our memories and reminisces.
