With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Vivien Jaros-Calleja, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend, on September 8, 2024. She left this world peacefully, surrounded by love and her family.

Vivien was born on February 20, 1961, in Manhattan, New York, the daughter of Edwin and Josephine Ellul. She was raised with strong values of compassion, kindness, and unwavering love, which she carried throughout her life. Her heart was always open to those around her, and she touched the lives of so many with her generosity, laughter, and wisdom.

Vivien was a loving wife to John Calleja sharing 13 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. She is also survived by Kevin Jaros, her first husband and father of their beloved children. The strong bond they shared will forever be reflected in the lives of their children.

Vivien was the cherished mother of Jessica (Scott) Matthews and Nicole (Dan) Hilla, and her love for them knew no bounds. She nurtured, supported, and guided them with patience and grace, always providing a listening ear and a warm hug when it was needed most. Her love extended beyond her own children, as she was also a beloved stepmother to Tony (Stacey) Calleja, Tomika Martinez, Sarah (James) Peterson and Angela (Mark) Maybee, who she embraced as her own. Her stepchildren, though adults when she entered their lives, will always remember her as a kind and caring presence who touched them deeply.

She was a proud Nanna to Blake and Olivia, as well as a loving step-Nanna to Jazminn, Santi, Jahvon, Sofia, Kaylynn, Nathan and Anna. They all brought her immense joy and pride. Her grandchildren and grand doggies will forever cherish the memories of her warm smile, playful spirit, and the countless stories she shared with them.
