Walter Henry (Wally) Kobylinski Jr., age 79, of Garden City, MI, passed away on June 27, 2021. Loving husband of Patricia of nearly 57 wonderful years. Devoted father of Rebecca, Sheila (Daniel) Acker, and Natalie (the late Gary) Proctor. Cherished Papa 'Peeps' of Dale, Neil, and Anna. Dear brother of the late Jeanie (Pete) Podrasky and brother-in-law of the late Linda (the late Al) Hagen; Sherry (Joe) Hubbard; Pamela (the late Chuck) Lawler; the late Jennie (Bill) Snapp; Johnnie (Mary Ann) Adams; James Adams; Debra (Jim) Tedder; the late Jerome Adams and the late Douglas (Donna) Adams. He will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Wally was born and raised in Detroit where he met the love of his life, Patricia. They were married in 1964 and moved to Garden City where they raised their three daughters. If there was one word to describe Wally, it was "provider". At times, he juggled three jobs to ensure that his girls had everything they needed and much of what they wanted. Wally landed a job at GM and retired in 1997 after 33 years of dedicated service.

Wally had a passion for vintage cars and enjoyed souping up his prized 1966 Chevelle. He loved to bowl and played on two leagues in his younger years. He also loved to gamble and travel, taking many cruises and day trips with Party Animal Travel. Wally enjoyed the challenge of finishing a good jigsaw puzzle and playing pinochle with his friends.

Wally was known for his dry sense of humor and his generosity. He never visited his daughters without bringing a gallon of milk or a treat for his grandkids. He lived for his family. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

A memorial visitation will be held Thursday July 22nd, 4 pm-7:30 pm at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home , 1139 N. Inkster Rd., Garden City. In state Friday, July 23rd, 9:30 am until the 10 am funeral mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 31530 Beechwood, Garden City.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital .
