Obituary

William C. Bowen, of Livonia, MI passed away October 24, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital from complications of a pneumonia infection. He was surrounded by his daughter, mother, brother, and friends.

He was born in Southfield, MI, son of Kaye (Johnson) Bowen and the late Richard Bowen. Bill lived in Detroit for 12 years before the family moved to Livonia where he attended the Livonia Public Schools and played soccer at Franklin High School. Bill, who had been disabled for the past 16 years, had worked as a chef in numerous area restaurants before becoming disabled. From the moment she was born Bill's focus in life was his daughter Autumn whom he loved very much. Bill showed a keen interest in cooking, enrolling in the culinary arts program at Schoolcraft College for a year and then moving to Portland, Oregon to attend Western Culinary Institute. He was also extremely interested in computer games, music, ham radio, innovative technologies, and the sciences, especially those pertaining to space. He also enjoyed watching the History and Discovery channels and the Late-Night shows on television.

Bill is survived by his beloved daughter Autumn, loving mother Kaye, dearest brother Jeffrey, four cats, Aunts Denise (David) Upcraft of Omaha, NE, Judy Tressler and Sue (Richard) Boitos of Big Rapids, MI, Uncle Phillip (Arlene) Johnson of Dearborn and numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Richard, his Grandparents, and an aunt and four uncles.

A memorial gathering is being held from 11-3 PM Saturday, November 2, 2024, at John N Santeiu & Son Funeral Home, 1139 N Inkster Rd., Garden City, MI 48135 (734) 427-3800. The Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 PM. A luncheon is being held at Mama Mia Restaurant, 27770 Plymouth Rd, Livonia at 4 PM. Cremation rites are being arranged.
