William "Bill" Higginbotham, of Allen Park, Michigan passed from this life into eternal life on February 3, 2012. He was born in Detroit and was the son of William Wren Higginbotham and Marian Lucille Higginbotham, who preceded him in death, and the brother of Carol and Susan. He was the dear friend of Carol Smith, Mark Whitters, and Don DeSmith as well as many other friends and co-workers. Most recently, Bill worked at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit in the IT Department.


Bill graduated from Ida (Michigan) High School in 1968, Michigan State University with a B.S. in labor relations in 1974, and Eastern Michigan University with a B.S. in computer science in 1992 as well as a M.S. in accounting in 1995.
Bill was devoted to his Catholic Christian faith, was very generous to many Christian causes and lived a very simple life. He had spent many years taking classes at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit and was a real thinker on theological, social, economic and political issues.


Bill's funeral will be held at the Church of the Divine Child, 1055 N. Silvery Lane at Wilson in Dearborn on Saturday, February 18, with the visitation at 9:00 am and the funeral Mass at 9:30 am to be followed by a ceremony at St. Hedwig's Cemetery and a luncheon.
