Age 69

Beloved husband of Diane for 22 years. Loving dad of Erik, Jessica (Ken) Young, and Samantha. Cherished papa of Luke, Margo, Emily, and Drew. Dear brother of Carol (Howard) Behr, Donna (the late Al) Spiteri, Rick (Donna), Ron (Colleen), Lenny and the late Connie. He was very dearly loved and will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, family member, friends and especially his beloved dog Buddy.

Bill served his community proudly as a council member and former mayor of Garden City. He was a founding member of the American Legion Riders in 1993, serving as director from 1996 - 2005, affectionately known to them as "Polka Bill". He was a post commander for the American Legion Post 396, even acting as president of the American Legion Memorial Home Association. Bill also spent time as a Garden City Hockey Coach and a Member of the Knights of Columbus.

His presence will be truly missed not only in Garden City, but throughout.

Visitation Thursday 2 pm - 7 pm with a Legion Ritual at 7 pm. Funeral Service Friday 10 am at the John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home.
