William “Bill” Michael Olson from Royal Oak, MI passed away on October 7, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his loving family and pets. He was born to Donald and Sandra Olson on September 5, 1969 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

Bill was a talented Tile Setter that created beautiful transformations of hundreds of homes throughout Michigan. His work ethic and design esthetic helped many clients create their own perfect spaces. His legacy of work will honor those spaces for years to come.

In July of 2015, Bill met Laura and they quickly became the best of friends and confidants. They fell in love and married on June 9, 2017. They built a life together that made them both stronger, more courageous, and capable of things they never imagined. She was his moon and he will always be her stars.

Bill loved spending time with family and friends, listening to music (Grateful Dead and George Clinton were his favorites), playing with our family dogs (Tom & Jerry - his boys, Parker - his girlfriend, Thelma and Louise - the newest additions, and Helen - his rough and tumble girl). He also enjoyed further educating himself with interests in world history, world events, master handyman, and building his wife a garden/homestead.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Laura Olson, his parents, Donald and Sandy Olson, his sister, Kristine Olson, his uncle, Ralph Olson, his Aunt and Uncle, Larry and Sue McNeill, his stepson, Brandon Hunter, his sisters’- in- law, Michelle Spencer and Jennifer Spencer. He was greeted in heaven by his uncle, David Olson, his mother/father in law, Harry and Molly Spencer and all of those too numerous to mention.

It was Bill’s desire to be cremated and to return home to Laura until they can be together again. A celebration of life will be held in his honor at a later date.
