Zdeba, William. Age 86. March 1, 2012. Beloved husband of Frances. Loving father of Linda (Joseph) Michels, Tom (Kathy) Zdeba and Don (Carol) Zdeba. Cherished grandfather of Jody (Dylan) Day, Dawn (Jeff) Eastom, Sarah and Lauren Zdeba and Benjamin and Kelsey Zdeba. Treasured great grandfather of Cheyanne Helme, Stella Day and C.J. Eastom. Dear brother of George (Connie) Zdeba and the late Alice (Murray) Moning and Helen Zdeba. Bill Zdeba was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 18, 1925.He graduated from Mackenzie High School in 1943, then continued his education at Walsh Institute of Accounting, Henry Ford Community College, University of Detroit and Ford Management Training Program.He was employed by Ford Motor Co. for almost 40 years and retired in May of 1987.He was Supervisor of Payroll, Cost Accounting, Financial Analysis and computer systems at Lincoln Mercury Division.At the time of his retirement, he was Staff System Specialist at World Headquarters for World Wide Automotive Sales and Distribution Systems.He met and married the former Frances Kedzierski of Pinconning, Michigan in 1946.He played in Johnny Sadrack's Orchestra.After the war, he formed his own band named Billy's Orchestra.Bill joined the Knights of Columbus at Monaghan Council in 1947, transferred to Bishop Foley in 1954, then to O'Kelly Council in 1964.He held offices in the O'Kelly Building Association as Director, Vice President and President.Also, he was Director, Treasurer and Supervisor Committee Chairman for the O'Kelly Credit Union.
Bill was a member of the Fourth Degree, Monsignor Schulte General Assembly which he joined March 2, 1986.He also was a member of the Color Corp.Bill was a member of Sacred Heart Parish since 1950 and a member of the Ushers Club.He enjoyed golf, bowling, euchre and playing the key board in his spare time.Most of all he enjoyed his time with his family.
Visitation at Hackett-Metcalf Funeral Home, 2640 Monroe Blvd. (near W. Outer Drive), Dearborn Sunday 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Monday 1:00 – 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Instate Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 22430 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn at 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice www.arborhospice.org or University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center www.med.umic.edu/cvc/
